   WHAT IS THE CLIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
Assistance Program (CAP) is a national program
mandated by the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973 toWelcome to the Disability and Employment Right's Advocacy
protect the rights of applicants, clients, and former 
clients of the Department of Rehabilitation (DR)
and other programs/agencies supported by 
Rehabilitation Act funds.  CAP advocates throughout 
California provide the following services at no cost:

       
Information regarding rights and benefits
        available from DR, and rights under Title I 
        of the ADA;

        Investigation of clients' complaints and problems;

        Assistance to clients in negotiating resolutions to 
        complaints or problems; and,

        Referrals for legal assistance
